Welcome to Greenwood Elementary

Greenwood Elementary School services Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd grade, in South Holland School District 150. The administrative staff and teachers know that Elementary School is an important educational time for your child's learning. I would like to add, that Elementary School is the foundation and the key for students to unlock their full potential and discover their passions.

While learning is taking place at Greenwood, in every classroom, it is important that we partner together, collaborate often, and team... to show that there are countless ways for students to be successful.

YOU play an important role during the Elementary years of your child's education. The entire Greenwood Staff invite you to participate and volunteer, making sure that your student is first. With your support...YOU hold the key, which is a necessity for success.

If there is a need to contact the school, feel free to call or email.

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Here at Greenwood School, we will be joining the National Initiative to “Unite Against Bullying”. Bullying can lead to a number of negative consequences academically and emotionally. In addition to poor attendance and decreased academic performance, Bullying causes feelings of helplessness, anger, and frustration. The consequences experienced are not limited to the person who bullies, but also causes mental, physical, and emotional damage to all involved, including bystanders.

Mrs. Ingram, the School Social Worker, will be speaking with all the classes about ways to keep Greenwood a Bully-Free School, during GLC, the week of October 19th.  Students will be educated about what Bullying is and provided with strategies on how to prevent it. These ideas will then be formulated into a Class Poster made from a Google Slide, which will be posted on the teacher’s Canvas Page for everyone to view.  All STUDENTS and STAFF are being asked to wear an orange shirt Every Wednesday to represent the fact that we are United Against Bullying beginning October 7th.

Feel free to visit Mrs. Ingram’s Canvas Page under announcements for more information on the Social Emotional Monthly Theme and videos on Bullying.
